Featured Client Work: African American Cultural and Historical Museum (AACHM)
WHAT WE DID:
We provided promotion and digital communications support for the first Community Kwanzaa Celebration. Not only was the fiirst time that AACHM had hosted a Kwanzaa celebration, it was also the first time the group had held virtual event of this magnitude. To add to the adventure, I was brought on to the team a week before the first night.
Everyone on the team was committed to a successful event, with many of us working around the clock. With the budget, time, and position rendered, we were able to
Support content strategy and web page content recommendations
Optimize the Facebook Page and tabs, created cover collage
Gain new followers and increase reach
Designed and deployed Facebook Ad
Promote the event by flyer distribution on social media and several digital calendars across Southeastern Michigan
Create a multi-day Facebook event with lots of moving parts
Give relevant history, definitions, graphics, and current discussions about Kwanzaa each morning via Facebook Page
HOW IT WORKED:
Kwanzaa community events, held virtually via Zoom for all seven nights of this holiday, attracted an average of 70 registered participants that came onto the Zoom call, as well as dozens of people who watched LIVE through the Facebook page. Over a thousand folks have since viewed these nights.

“Leslie McGraw and Les Go Social have been critical contributors to PEG's success. With their help we have a communication program that is the basis for all of our work. They have produced over 200 newsletters for us with outstanding open rates typically around 32%, which is about double the industry average. Leslie is dependable, easy to work with, responsive and works well with our volunteers. She has taken our communications vision and made it a reality.”
