WHO IS LESLIE?

I am a community marketing strategist, writer, and training professional who LOVES working with creatives and people and organizations that are positive contributors to the communities to which they belong. My journey began with 14 years in higher education. In 2012, I launched what I now refer to as Les Go Social 1.0. I kept busy as a multimedia journalist and blogger with a couple of clients and regular social media workshops. To make a long story short (check out the blog for the extended story), it sort of flopped around 2014. In 2018, when I returned fulI-time after an extended maternity leave, I was more sure of myself and clients poured in. But, something was missing. I felt like a freelancer rather than a business owner.

Then, along came 2020 and all of her messy drama. People dying and crying, organizations falling apart, brick and mortar stores going bankrupt. That’s on top of losing the biggest cheerleader I’ve ever had (my grandma) and my own scary health episode. I was certain that I was gonna lose my sh%t…both literally and figuratively. Except, I didn’t. I figured it out, one thing at a time. In fact, I have never had so many unsolocited prospects reach out in all my days. I helped my clients figure things out. I fought hard for myself, my family, and my tribe of clients and business besties. NOT ONE client had to close their doors or stop operations.

And guess what else? I didn’t do a single project that I didn’t feel great about. I showed up with my full self without fitting into any norms. 2021 is already showing signs of debauchery, but it’s OK. I am growing in to the direction of my ideal business lead for Les Go Social, vibing in unison with my life and family, values and purpose.
